A 5-day program to become confident and independent in different conditions.
Ride upwind, gybe and ride independently
Phase 1 — Upwind mastery
- Full Beginner Course included — waterstart and riding confirmed or reviewed day 1
- Upwind edging drill: heel pressure, back-foot drive and kite position for pointing higher
- Upwind runs: gaining ground up the beach instead of drifting constantly downwind
- Kite trim and depower: reducing drag while maintaining board speed
Phase 2 — Turns and transitions
- Gybe: completing a downwind turn smoothly without crashing or stopping
- Toeside riding introduction: board edge change mid-run
- Wind awareness: responding to lulls and gusts in real conditions
Phase 3 — Full independence and certification
- Self-rescue: pack the kite to leading edge, float back to shore unaided
- Self-launch: inflate, rig, launch and ride with no beach assistant
- Self-land: bring the kite down and secure it without help
